Setting up TortoizeSVN to download and sync Hadoop Source on Windows

First you would need to download and install TortoiseSVN on your Windows machine from the link below:

After the installation is completed you can create a root folder where all the sources will be storage and then use individual folder within that folder to have different Hadoop core components source separated.

For example I have folder called C:HadoopSource and all my Hadoop core components source will stay there.

So I can Right Click on Sources folder as below and select “SVN Checkout” from the popup menu to checkout the desired source:

Once the TortoiseSVN Checkout windows appears, I can enter proper SVN Path for the specific source and also can edit where the source will be synced.

For example Hadoop Map/Reduce source SVN link is as below:



So to  download and sync Hadoop MapReduce source, I will enter the following SVN path:

Once you select OK above  the checkout process will start Sync the source locally and finally you will see the dialog below:
